She was predeceased by: her parents, Cleo Whitlock and Vergie Likens Whitlock; and her husband Coy Slate. She is survived by: her children, Wendy Steiss (Darren) of High Point and Patrick Slate (Jacki) of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Cory Steiss (Kacy) and Kaitlyn Scesney (Taylor); and her great grandchild Russel Steiss.
