With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ian Matthew Faires of Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on January 12, 2024 at the age of 46. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Steven Russell Faires. He is survived by: his mother Rebecca Schneider; his stepparents, Don Schneider of Charlotte and Suzon Faires of Dahlonega, Georgia; his siblings, Jonathan Russell Faires (Christa) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Dana Griffin Letchworth (Byron) of Dawsonville, Georgia, Adam Patrick Faires (Lindsay) of Charlotte and Courtney Elizabeth Faires of Charlotte; and his nieces and nephews, Alexis Sharisse Morgan, Brennan Russell Faires, Jim Scott Letchworth, Hudson Alfred Faires and Sullivan Patrick Faires. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Ian's life and the damage he caused weekly to the piano, by donating to the Music Ministry Program at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 8600 Potter Road, Weddington, North Carolina 28104.

“Ian managed to touch so many hearts in his time on Earth. He pushed so many of us to pursue our dreams of playing music, having fun, and creating memories while doing so. As a former student, I cannot imagine the imprint he left on his family let alone some kid strangers. Thank you for being willing to keep us all updated on Ian's journey to the afterlife, and I wish you all strength and healing through and after this time. He will forever be with you.”
