We are sad to announce that on June 1, 2024, at the age of 92, Herbert Weldon Dixon of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Herbert has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Nathan Dixon, Sr. and Ethel Clara Dixon (Wright); and his brother Bill Dixon. He is survived by: his children, Helen Saxon (Matthew), Kelly Dixon and John Dixon; his grandchildren, Alexander Dixon of Charlotte and Cara Dixon of Charlotte; and his siblings, Allen Dixon, Ila Jean Jackson of Randleman, NC and Anita Dunlap of Burgaw, NC.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

“I know that Herb had a tough time over the last few years but during the times we were together at scouts and Troop 79….Herb was always ready to go and to help with troop activities. Shepherding Alex along, I always thought Herb was enjoying the journey…always with a smile and a pleasant disposition. There are other scouting friends Herb has joined now and I’m sure there will be camp fires to sit around and fellowship like the close of a great day….”
