He was predeceased by: his parents, George Phifer Houston Sr. and Harriet Hoyle Houston; his sister Harriet Houston Jenkins; and his brother-in-law Steve Jenkins. He is survived by: his wife Emily Renfroe; his son George Phifer Houston III; his daughter-in-law Shera of Charlotte; his daughters, Allison Phifer Houston of Charlotte and Georganne "Annie" (Michael J. Bruso); his sister Josephine; his brother-in-law Stan Roberts of Purvis, MS; and his grandchildren, Cloe, Tiffany Houston, Andrew Houston and George Phifer Houston IV "Mason". He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.
