Georgia Ellen Moore Obituary

Georgia Moore, 95, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Willow Ridge Assisted Living in Charlotte.

Georgia was born on October 11, 1928 to Hovah and Agnes Ellis in Berwind, WV.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jay Lee Moore; a twin brother who passed away several days after they were born, daughter, Cyntae Moore; sisters; Geneva Ellis Burnett, Isabelle Ellis Ferguson, Mary Elizabeth Woods Grayson; brothers, Garland Ellis, Edward Ellis (Lilian), William Ellis (Beatrice), Harold Ellis (Josephine), and Col. Donald Ellis.

Those left to cherish Georgia's memory are her daughter, Crystal D. Vinson; son, Vincent Moore; grandchildren, Darnell Overn Moore (Marlena), Dean Antwain Moore, Vince Jr., Fransuave Moore, Jasmine Moore, Mikayla Moore, and Salvatore; great grandchildren, Da'Von Moore, Kendahl Wofford; great-great grandchildren; Piper Cannon, Graylen Moore; sister-in-law, Louise Ellis of Ft. Washington, MD, and numerous other relatives.

After the death of Georgia's father, she lived with her mother and siblings in Portsmouth, OH where she graduated from high school.

A memorial service to celebrate Georgia's life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the First Church of God at 4:00 PM with Pastor Jerome Pearson officiating.
