He was predeceased by: his parents, Roosevelt Bagby and Carrie Harris; and his siblings, Phillip, Sylvester, Isaiah, Willie and Lorenia Vaughn.
He is survived by: his wife Theodoshia Leak Bagby; his children, Emanuel Jr. (Bach-Hien), Ben (Craig Strang Thompson) and Michelle Bagby; his grandson Brian Emanuel (Leah Jenkins); his great grandchildren, Brian Emanuel Jr. and Karson Jenkins; his siblings, Maggie Stewart, Vertie Royster (Don), Nathanial, Bobby and Carl (Dee); and his pet Zowie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, plus a multitude of relatives and friends.
During the latter years of his struggles with Parkinson's disease, when he stopped talking he could still sing.
