It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor Hawkins (Charlotte, North Carolina), born in Sumter, South Carolina, who passed away on October 1, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Sarah Frances Newman; and her siblings, Annette and Ronnie. She is survived by: her husband John Hawkins; her children, Elisa Hawkins Metzcus (Michael), Leigh Ann Hawkins Faherty (Pete), Heather Hawkins Copeland (Brad) and John Alan Hawkins; her grandchildren, Madelyn, Vivienne (Metzcus), Alden, Mae, Gardner, Hugh (Faherty), Diego, Ren and Jett (Copeland); and her siblings, Verne, Boyd, Timmy, Paul Newman and Rose Marie.
