He is survived by: his children, Charles Ray Helms (Darlene) of Concord, Sheila Taylor of Charlotte and Teresa McCorkle (Gary) of Charlotte; his siblings, Larry Helms and Faye Barfield; and also Mary Helms. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
