It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carolyn S. Deaton (Charlotte, North Carolina), born in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, who passed away on April 12, 2019, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Roy Rucker Smith and Betty Miller Smith; her husband Frank A. Deaton; her children, Frank Deaton II of Charlotte and Tonya D. Denning (Joel Thomas Denning) of Raleigh; and her grandchildren, Catherine Ann Denning, Ashley Elizabeth Denning and Rebecca Grace Denning.

In lieu of flowers, Carolyn's wishes were to have memorials sent to the Joe Martin ALS Foundation in Charlotte.
