He is survived by: his sister Nora Utley of Charlotte; his children, Wade Bass, Shawn Elizabeth Brasfield, David Brasfield and Patrick Steger; his grandchildren, Jamey Bass, Kimberly Bass and Hailie Steger; his great grandchildren, Ryan Cain of Jase Stanley, LJ and Kinsley Lambert; and his nephew Rodney Blount.
