She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Brewster Laine and Mary Elizabeth Laine. She is survived by: her husband Bobby Herring; her children, Bryan Herring (Derrick Morris) and Laine Adams (Robb); her siblings, Bob Laine, Chris Laine (Pegge) and Sigrid Duden; her friend Lynn Collins; and her grandchildren, Blake and Ashton. She is also survived by her children, and even having her grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to the "Sunshine Fund" at Myers Park Baptist Church or the Crisis Assistance Ministry of Charlotte.

“I was so sorry the hear Barbara had passed. Such a wonderful, sweet lady. Prayers and my condolences to her family and friends. I was walking past the house early the day she passed away on the 17th and was saddened to see her being taken away. I actually said a prayer for her every morning when I walked past her house after finding out she was ill. Martin Doss Charlotte, NC”
