He is survived by: his wife Ann Morris Charlton; his children, Abram Carrington Read Charlton Jr. and Sarah Elizabeth Charlton Detrick; his son-in-law Thomas Richard Detrick; his grandchildren, Samuel Read Detrick and Carrington McClaran Detrick; and his brother Thomas Jackson Charlton V. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and close friends.
