He was predeceased by: his parents, Aliasghar Pourafkari and Alaviyeh Pourafkari of Tabriz, Iran.. He is survived by: his wife Irantaj Shamsdiba (Diba); his daughters, Dr. Marina Pourafkari and Romina Khandani; and his granddaughters, Yasmina, Nikta, Hannah and Sienna.
