He was predeceased by: his parents, Kathleen Shirley McCoy and Marcus Cicero McCoy; his wife Sara Hart McCoy; and his siblings, Gerald McCoy, James McCoy, Anna Fay McCoy and Keiter McCoy.
He is survived by: his daughters, Laurie McCoy Foster (Tim) of Jupiter and Kathleen McCoy Skutch (David) of Montclair; his sister Sylvia McCoy Mewborn (Ancel) of Chapel Hill; his grandchildren, Jessica Carroll (Darren) of Austin, Texas, Michelle Foster (Alex Crumbley) of Brooklyn, Bryan Foster, Evan Foster of Los Angeles, Sara Skutch Kinlaw (Gantt) of Alexandria and Charlotte Skutch of Brooklyn; and his great grandchildren, Hannah Crumbley, Caroline Crumbley of Brooklyn, Jackson Carroll and William Carroll of Austin.
