He is survived by: his wife Carol Murphy Richards; his children, Chris (Elizabeth) and Carrie (Eddie); his grandchildren, Jackson, Cal, Catherine, Andy, Margaret and Christian; his sister Libby Richards Mitchell; his brothers-in-law, Pat and Jim Murphy; his nieces, Ashley Mitchell and Madison Richards; and his nephew Patrick Murphy.
