He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Glenn Pipkin, Sr. and Elizabeth Holler Pipkin; his siblings, Robert Glenn Pipkin, Jr., Anne Pipkin Willig and Nancy Pipkin Burkhart; and his daughters, Elizabeth Lee Pipkin Michels (Betsy) and Kathryn Pipkin McKinney.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Dearman; his sons, David Pipkin (Adonna) of Hampstead and Dr. Eben "Alex" Alexander, III (Karen Newell) of Charlottesville, VA; and his grandchildren, Charlie McKinney of Charlotte, Isabella Pipkin, Samantha Pipkin of Hampstead, Dr. Eben Alexander, IV of Fort Collins and Carter Bond Alexander of Longmont, Colorado..
