With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nanette Odessa Fields of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 30, 2024 at the age of 98. She was predeceased by: her parents, Felix Weaver Wood and Odessa Nanette Wood (Harkins). She is survived by: her children, Walter Geddie Fields III, Patricia Fields Neubert and Melinda Nanette Fields; her granddaughter Odessa-Nanette W. Fields; her great grandchildren, Patterson Lange Fields and Rylee Crawford Fields; and also Kimberly Crawford Fields.
Her family would ask that in lieu of flowers or other tributes, a donation be made in her name to the Chapel Hill Historical Society that she supported for many years or the Phi Mu Foundation.
