He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson Scott and Martha B. Scott. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Scott; his daughters, Jennifer Lynn Wilson and Tara Meadows; his siblings, Frances Sparkman and Roy Scott; his grandchildren, Laney Meadows and Kimberly Pilson; and his great grandchildren, Aiden Austin and Leonidas Jones.

While flowers are accepted, memorial contributions may also be made to UNC Heart and Vascular 101 Manning Dr. Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
