She was predeceased by: her parents, James F. "Turk" Newsome and Alice B. Newsome. She is survived by: her husband Mark G. Hounshell; her friend Kernersville; her children, Alexandria G. Hounshell (Adam Rok) and Nicholas J. Hounshell (Lindsey Hounshell); her pet Luna; her sisters, Libby Newsome and Susan Newsome Shotsberger; her mother-in-law Ann G. Hounshell; her sons-in-law, Paul Shotsberger, Paul B Hounshell Jr. and David Hounshell; her sister-in-law Gale Hounshell; and her nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Katie, Sarah, Ryan, Brandon and Carl.
We pray that there will be progress made to develop effective treatments for Alzheimer's disease so other families will not have to a follow a similar journey. We would like to thank the many nurses and staff at Transitions Hospice, especially Liz and Suzanne, who helped us navigate the many physical and emotional aspects of late-stage Alzheimer's disease.
