We are sad to announce that on November 13, 2020, Joseph Junious Sparrow of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, born in Durham, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Allan Wertz of Snow Camp, NC.. He is survived by: his wife Tara Wertz Sparrow; his stepdaughter Alissa Dunn; his son Levi Sparrow of Chapel Hill; his parents, June Albert Sparrow and Ruth Russell Sparrow of Chapel Hill; his sisters, Sandra (Tim Barefoot) of Wilmington, NC. and Sarah (John Loftin) of Mebane, NC.; his siblings-in-law, Jonathan Wertz and Stacey Wertz Ballinger; his mother-in-law Karen Wertz of Snow Camp, NC.; his nephews, Josh, Jeff Coburn of Mebane, NC, Taylor, Austin Barefoot of Wilmington, NC and Max Sparrow of Chapel Hill, NC; his niece Ava Wertz of Snow Camp, NC.; and also Andy (Sharon Sparrow) of Chapel Hill.
Due to the pandemic, masks will be required while at the service, and social distancing will be encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, "a trust has been set up in Tara Sparrow's name to benefit Jay's children, Alissa and Levi. The family respectfully requests that any donations be made to it through any State Employee's Credit Union.
