We bid farewell to John Walter Yow of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 3, 2025 at the age of 88. John Walter touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Yow and Mae Yow; his son Gerry Yow; his daughter-in-law Shannon Yow; and his sisters, Mary Carden, Beatrice Gaydou, Doris Stafford, Glenda Mauer and Patsy Yow.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Sue Yow; his sons, Walter Yow (Sharon) and Keith Yow (Beth Landis); his grandchildren, Allyson Hodges (Jonathan) and Preston Yow (Beth); his great grandchildren, Avelyn, Dawson and Tatum; and his friend Kristi Provinsky.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Antioch Baptist Church (1707 White Cross Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27516). A reception will be held on Friday, July 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lake Mayo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Antioch Baptist Church.
