It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jennie Chavis of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on September 28, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jackson Burnette and Emma Burnette; her husband Johnnie Chavis; and her siblings, Hattie Seymour and Roland Burnette.
She is survived by: her son Jesse (Brenda) of Durham; her grandson Steven (Idania); and her sister Mae Ruth Seymour (Paul) of Pittsboro. She is also survived by four other grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
