He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Collins and Elizabeth Collins Higgs; and his sister Betty June Moore. He is survived by: his wife Jackie Riggsbee; his former wife Martha Collins; his children, James "Jay" Collins (Flo), Wendy Gay Watkins, Lee Collins (Kim), Leonard Collins (Maria), Lyle Collins (Yeu Li), Ashley Collins Cox and Britt Collins (Erin); and his stepchildren, Kim Kendrick (Mike), Traci Carr (Ross) and Kenneth Riggsbee (Carolyne). He is also survived by 19 grand-children, 9 great grand- children and 1 great great grand-son and 3 loving nieces and 1 nephew.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (2016 Mt Carmel Church Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
