He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Winkler Schifferl and Louis Schifferl; and his former wife Willa Mae O'Neil Schifferl. He is survived by: his wife Ilse Elisabeth Hertel Schifferl (Cable); and his children, Donna Fields (Tony), Debra Tepe (Steve), Donald Schifferl (Melissa), Doris Tepe (William), Daniel Schifferl, David Schifferl, Peter Cable (Jaye) and Tamara Cable. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Don's name to the US Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program.
