He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Marbry and Lois Marbry; and his former wife Mary Lane Marbry. He is survived by: his wife Sue Hoenig Marbry; his son Gary Marbry (Delaine); his grandsons, Michael (Anna) and Trevor (Lauren); his daughter Darian Poliachik (Bob); his grandchildren, Justin (Emily), Kasey (Zach) and Shelby (Jacob); his stepdaughter Toni Umstead (John); his stepgrandchildren, Devon (Clate), Chloë and John Wesley (Kristen); his stepson Mark Hoenig (Barbara); and his stepgrandsons, Christopher (Rachel) and Brian (Kristin). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Carolina Meadows Club Center (100 Carolina Mdws, Chapel Hill, NC 27517).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Don's beloved Carolina Baseball program, or your choice of organization.
