He was predeceased by: his parents, Seymour Glenn Nix and Maude Horton Nix; his wife Janie Nix; his siblings, Seymour Glenn Nix Jr., Douglas Nix, Fred Nix, Malcome Nix and Betty Conaway; his grandsons, Brandon Nix and Travis Nix; and his former wife Annette Ginn Pulley.
He is survived by: his siblings, Eugene Nix (Kim Nix) and Delorese Dewayne; his sister-in-law Susie Nix; his children, Michael Nix (Christina Nix), Richard Nix (Alisa Nix), Patricia Capel (Darell Capel), Nancy Jolynn Nix and Wendy Duke (Cliff Duke); and his grandchildren, Brian Capel, Brad Capel (Meg Capel), Kristopher Nix (Breezy Clements), Dillon Duke, Brooke Moore (Wes Moore), Kendall Daniels (Rob Daniels), Mandy Nix, Tamora Nix and Trishawn Nix. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
