She was predeceased by: her father William Fletcher Hester, Jr.. She is survived by: her mother Claudia Beal Hester; her husband Robert Medlin; her siblings, Catherine Snyder and William Hester III (Monica); her sister-in-law Jennifer Holding (Roosevelt); her nephews, Jeffrey, Andrew, Austin Hester, Michael Skiff and Anthony Ignatz; and her niece Amber Ignatz.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Formerly Ephesus Baptist Church (2025 Ephesus Church Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517). Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Jubilee Baptist Church (2025 Ephesus Church Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National MS Society or the American Diabetes Association.
