With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alfred Zachary of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on September 15, 2020 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Zachary and Pearl Tapp Zachary; his daughters, Debbie Z. Cook and Angie Brown; and his siblings, Lindley Zachary, Edith Faulkner, Edna O'Daniel and Carolyn Huffines.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy J. Zachary; his son Tim Zachary (Marie) of Chapel Hill; his sister Peggy Way of Mebane; his grandchildren, Jamie Cook (Kurtis Crawford), Ashley Doyle (Michael), Kelin Hiltbold (Matthew), Dylan Cook, Earl Gurganus, Matthew Cook, Robert Gurganus and Timmy Zachary; and his great grandchildren, Elijah, Gildeon Crawford, Ayden, Aubree Hiltbold, Caylee and James Cook.
