With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sarah Ellen Williams Koonce (Chadbourn, North Carolina), born in Boone, North Carolina, who passed away on January 2, 2020 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilton Albert Williams and Edith Shirley Belk Williams; and her daughter Harriette Koonce Sparlin. She is survived by: her husband Sam; her sons, Sterling G. Koonce (Caroline) of Tabor City, William Edward Koonce (Lesley) of Forest City and Dr. Samuel G. Koonce, Jr. (Kay) of Murrells Inlet; her siblings, Sybil W. Pope of Angier, Dr. Larry Williams (Dottie) of Benson and Samuel Williams (Sheila) of Siler City; her grandchildren, Jaclyn McKenzie Koonce, Mary Grayson Koonce, Elizabeth Koonce, Sarah Beth Koonce Munson (Cody), Lindsay Koonce Helton (Chip), John Hiatt and Elliott Koonce (Courtney); and her great grandchildren, Neal Koonce and Grady Koonce.
