He was predeceased by: his parent Mary Elizabeth Barnes Sanders; his son Billy Ray Sanders; and his siblings, Robert Sanders, Norman Sanders, Willie Sanders, Lester Sanders, Billy Carson Sanders, Odena Ruth Sanders, Patsy Mae Hooker and Pauline Sanders.
He is survived by: his parent Arle Carson Sanders; his wife Fannie Mae Marlowe Sanders; his children, Danny Sanders of Whiteville, James "Randy" Sanders (Linda) of Fair Bluff, Sherry Penny of Chadbourn, Jeffery Stevens of Salisbury, Joyce James of Lexington and Lisa Sanders of Lexington; and his sisters, Edith Diane Carter of Sophia and Sarah Jane Parrish of Sea Grove. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
