It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Fern Burnette of Chadbourn, North Carolina, who passed away on November 11, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gutherie Thomas Bullard, Sr. (GT) and Mary Edna Kissam Bullard; and her brother Gutherie Thomas Bullard, Jr. (Tommy). She is survived by: her spouse Rucker Preston Burnette; her children, Mary Snow Thornton (Hamp), Julie Ann Castelloe (Andy) and Rucker Preston Burnette, Jr. (Misty); her grandchildren, Gretchen Snow Castelloe, Laney Elizabeth Castelloe, Mary Kissam Thornton, Richard Hampton Thornton III and Peyton Yvonne Burnette; her sister Phyllis Jane Bullard of Chadbourn; and her cousins, Libby Mercer, Durema Kissam and Norman Kissam.
