It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Cartrette (Chadbourn, North Carolina), who passed away on October 17, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Willie McPherson; her husband William Coy Cartrette; her son Mickey Cartrette; and her siblings, Annie Kelly, Ace McPherson, Frazier McPherson, Zettie Linwood McPherson and Paul Dale McPherson.
She is survived by: her children, Sudie M. Walker of Evergreen, Deborah Hyatt of Delco and Michael Cartrette (Lorri) of Chadbourn; her grandchildren, Victor Walker, Elizabeth Barsh and Paige Cartrette; her great grandchildren, Peyton Henderson, Justin Walker, Mahala Barsh, Logan Barsh, Skylar Walker and Cassidy Barsh; and her brother W. K. McPherson of Whiteville.
