He was predeceased by: his parents, Lacy Nealey and Ruth McPherson Nealey. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Nealey; his children, Kendra Nealey of Murrells Inlet, SC and Bryan Nealey of Tabor City, NC; his stepchildren, Patricia Floyd of Cerro Gordo, NC, Jamie Rittenhouse of Cerro Gordo, NC and Bubi Hacker of Lancaster, KY; and his sister Pat Ward of Chadbourn, NC. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
