He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Soles and Daisy Duncan Soles; his former wife Essie Rae Soles; his son Ricky Dean Soles; his stepson Shannon Dale McMillian; his great grandchild Abel Soles; and his siblings, Jackie Soles, Ted Soles, Liston Soles, Luke Soles, Alvie Soles, Talmadge Soles, David Lee Soles, Betty Todd, Rosie Duncan and Gladys Hammonds.
He is survived by: his wife Pearl Gore Soles; his children, Pamela Soles Freeman of Clarkton, NC, Amaryllis Soles (Tim McPherson) of Chadbourn, NC and Danny Ray Soles of Whiteville, NC; and his stepsons, Teddy Godwin (Kathy) of Clarendon, NC and Darrell Godwin of Clarendon, NC. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.
