He is survived by: his wife Arlene Rae Smith Yates; his son Jack M. Yates, Jr. (Sue) of Chadbourn; his grandchildren, Jack M. Yates, III (Rachel), Jessica Brooke Gangway (Luke) and Jenna Rae Yates; and his great grandchildren, Lily Madelyn Gangway and Jack M. Yates, IV.
