With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hilda Grey Simmons (Chadbourn, North Carolina), born in Columbus, North Carolina, who passed away on December 26, 2022 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Richard Smith; and her siblings, Jacqueline Benton and Marshall Smith. She is survived by: her husband James Edward "J. E." Simmons; her children, Starr Worthington (Ronald), Lynn Simmons (Cathy) of Chadbourn and Eddie Simmons of Chadbourn; her brother Richard Smith, Jr. of Whiteville; and her grandchildren, Jamie Stephens (Kay), Ryan Stephens (Stacy), Eden Rouse (Ben), Chelsea Simmons (Jeff), Amber Simmons and Cassie Ward (Josh). She is also survived by many loving great-grandchildren.
