He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleveland DeVane and Mattie Stephens Carr; his sister Elaine; and his wife Eloise. He is survived by: his children, Joe, Arimar Carr of Wilmington, Tommy Carr of Atlanta, Judith (Judy) and Michael Reel of Leland. He is also survived by his children.
