Hazel McPherson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hazel McPherson (Chadbourn, North Carolina), born in Columbus, North Carolina, who passed away on August 19, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Godwin and Ruth Duncan Godwin; her husband Lewis McPherson; her daughter Michelle "Shelly" Lynn McPherson; and her brothers, Grady Godwin, Robert Godwin, Eugene Godwin, Kenneth Ray and Lester Wayne Godwin (Bill).
She is survived by: her great grandchildren, Savannah Clark, Meredith Clark, Cameron Hooks, Sydney Hedge, Porter Hedge and Caleb Spivey; her sisters, Irene G. Ward of Whiteville, Bernice Gurganus (Scott) of Shallotte and Cathy Reid of Tabor City; and her close friend Edgar Hinson.
The service will be streamed live on the Worthington Funeral Home Facebook page. *Mask are required and social distancing must be practiced!* To cherish her memory, Hazel leaves behind her children, Alice M. Hooks and husband, Ben, of Wrightsville Beach and Donald Ray McPherson and wife, Tina, of Whiteville; four grandchildren, Heather Clark (Ryan).
