She was predeceased by: her parents, William Luther Thompson, Sr. and Lizzie Alene Martin Thompson; her husband Carl Ward; her siblings, Mary Loil Honeycutt, William Luther Thompson, Jr., Edith Williamson and Barbara Horne; her grandson Joseph Allen Myers; and her great grandchild Kelton Chase Godwin.
She is survived by: her children, A. Carl Ward (Jolene) of Hampstead, Theresa Myers (Darrell) of Graham, Robin Evans (Jerry) of Chadbourn and Lynn Pennington of Mt. Holly; and her sister Opal Pope of Mechanicsville, VA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
