He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvie Devine Hinson and Eva McPherson Hinson; his wife Eloise Cribb Hinson; his son Rodney Devon Hinson; and his sisters, Agnes McPherson and Ruth Jean McPherson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Geraldine "Jerrie" Hinson (Robert) of Clarendon and Robin H. Reaves (Jerry) of Nakina; his siblings, Oscar Odell Hinson of Chadbourn, Hazel McPherson of Chadbourn, Reba Newman of Whiteville and Margie Izzo (Anthony) of Tar Heel; his grandchildren, Jonathan Reaves (Alison), Kristin Sellars (Nathan) and Blake Hinson (Danelle); and his great grandchildren, Clyde Sellars, Wyatt Hinson and Scarlett Sellars.
