He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Lee Mercer and Clyde Mercer; and his brother Richard Kelly Mercer. He is survived by: his son Matthew Hall Mercer; his stepchildren, Ray "Biddle" Fisher (Jamie) of Dillon, SC and Lisa F. Nobles of Chadbourn; and his grandchildren, Brady Mercer, Gabrielle Mercer and Hailey Mercer.
