He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilton Smith Hammond and Frances Helen Stewart; and his wife June Hammond. He is survived by: his daughters, Vanessa Hunt McPherson (Ryan) of Whiteville and Mary Frances Hammond Shelton (Bobby) of Jefferson, Georgia; his siblings, Elaine H. Jordan (Buster) of Chadbourn, Henry Hammond (Diane) of Loris, SC and Hope H. Nobles (Larry) of Chadbourn; and his grandchildren, Tiffany Massey, Brandon Hammond, Rebecca Sims, Dustin Shelton, Gavin McPherson and Erina McPherson. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
