With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Russell Ward Gaskill Sr. of Cedar Island, North Carolina, born in Morehead City, North Carolina, who passed away on March 16, 2021 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his daughters, Audrey Maxine Gaskill and Rachel Evelyn Gaskill; and his siblings, Reda Styron, Frances Daniels, Rodney Gaskill, John Gaskill and Callius Gaskill.
He is survived by: his wife Katherine Stump Gaskill; his children, Elizabeth "Libby" Goodwin (Phillip) of Sea Level, Russell Ward Gaskill Jr. (Jessica Piner) of Beaufort and Jacob Damren (Courtney) of Cedar Island; his siblings, Rose Buskirk (Graham) of Beaufort, Mae Brittingham (Robert) of Beaufort and Tom Gaskill (Connie) of New Jersey; his grandchildren, Phillip Jr., Audra, Andrew Goodwin, Duke, Lauren, Devin Gaskill and Layton Damren; and his great grandchildren, Phillip III, Lucas Goodwin, Andrew, Ember Goodwin, Sedona Juarez, Stone and Wylder Gaskill.
In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home.
