He was predeceased by: his wife Gertrude Parker Borland; his parents, Wallace Boland and Mary Boland; his brothers, Hughes Boland and John Boland; and his great grandchild Christy Brown Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Dianne Brown (Larry), Sam Borland, Jr. (Betty), Steve Borland, Betty Borland, Bobbi Cabe (Mac), Sandy Rimmer (Darryl) and Wendy Borland; his grandchildren, Todd Brown, Travis Brown, Jeff Borland (Jamie), Kyle Borland (Shannon), Stephanie Borland, Johnathan Riddle (Courtney), Billy Riddle (Kristen), Josh Hudson (Cameron Tivnan), Zachary Rimmer (Olivia Huntley) and Garret Rimmer; and his sister Mary Pixley. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
