It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ella Gertrude Askew of Cedar Grove, North Carolina, who passed away on July 29, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Burrie "Doc" Corbett and Nannie Corbett. She is survived by: her husband William Edward Askew; her children, William Edward Askew, II, Vertelia Seda Askew-Thomas (Keith) and Consuella Hutton (Mark); her grandchildren, Kyle Thomas, Kacie Crawford (Joshua) and Evan Hutton; and her sister Rose Scnobia Taylor (Jerry) of Mebane.
