He was predeceased by: his parents, Nuley Sanderson Sr. and Eula Blizzard; and his siblings, Harold, Cecil, Rudolph, Speck Sanderson, Ercelle Squires, Louinda Edgerton, Ida Jones and Janie Turner.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Sanderson and Deneen Sanderson Mullens (Joseph Allen Mullens); his sister Linda Butts; and his grandchildren, Joseph Tyler Mullens, Nikki Leann Smith (Joshua Aaron Smith), Kelsey Sanderson Lamb (Zachariah Christopher Lamb) and Fiona Gabriela Sanderson.
