He is survived by: his son Philip Byrd; his siblings, Catherine Byrd Walls of Atlanta, GA, Barbara Byrd of Hickory, NC, Frank Byrd of Hickory, NC and Frances Byrd of Hickory, NC; and his niece Ashley Byrd of Hickory, NC. He is also survived by six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
