He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Comer and Mattie Varner Comer; and his siblings, Dennis Jr., Bill, Helen, Dot, Maxine, Nancy, Thelma and Marie.
He is survived by: his wife Eloise McKinney Comer; his children, Larry Cook (Susie) of Vale, Jimmy Cook (Michelle) of Conover, Terry Cook (Lisa) of Cajah's Mountain and Christy Michelle Cook of Hickory; his sister Zelma of High Point; his grandchildren, Tiffany, Rebecca, Cody, Elizabeth, Dustin, Layla, Courtney, Jonathan and Ethan; and his great grandchildren, Lily, Elijah, Cadence, Emalin, Keaton and Lexi.
