She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Kirksey and Viola Holt Kirksey; her husband Bobby Lee Taylor; her siblings, Floyd Kirksey (Dorothy) and Hazel Kirksey Sherrill (Clifford); and her niece Brenda Sherrill Wise.

She is survived by: her daughter Angela Taylor Chitwood (William); her grandchildren, Hallie Grace Chitwood and Jonah Christopher Chitwood; her nieces, Donna Thompson (Larry) of Conover and Carol Lambert (Hubert) of Lincolnton; and her nephew Samuel Sherrill (Elizabeth) of Sherrills Ford.
