She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Pascal Elliott and Mary Alda Williams Elliott; her husband James R. Staley Sr.; her son Jerry Michael Josey; her brothers, James Elliott, Steve Elliott and Curtis Elliott; and her brothers-in-law, Dale Mackie and Herman Brown.

She is survived by: her children, Stanley Dale Josey (Donna) of Catawba and Terry J. Sherrill (Danny) of Sherrills Ford; her siblings, Roger Elliott (Linda) of Catawba and Scarlett Mackie; her grandchildren, Stan Josey, Colby Josey, Adam Sherrill, Stephanie Copeland and Steven Josey; and her great grandchildren, Edyn Josey, Hardin Josey, Sawyer Sherrill, Haylee Sherrill, Noah Copeland and Jett Copeland.
